DOMESTIC
HOT

TANK
CONNECTIONS
DESCRIPTION
Both the two and three cylinder models are equipped with
connections to send engine coolant to a domestic water heater.
If
the owner/operator wishes to connect a water heater, remove
the bypass hose and connect a water heater
as
described
in
the instructions presented below .

INSTALLATION
CONNECTOR
#302391
The heater should be mounted conveniently either in a
high or
low
position in relation
to
the engine,
so
that the
connecting hoses
from
the heater
to
the
engine
can
run in a
reasonably direct line without
any
loops which might trap
air.

MANIFOLD
With
the bypass
hose
removed, there remain
two
connecting
points
A
and
B for hoses
to
run
to
and from the water
heater.
These connections assure a
flow
of hot water through
the
heater
at
all times but
do
not restrict the engine's cooling
water.
Connection point A
on
the Flow Control housing should
connect
to
the
lower of
the
two connections
on
the
water
heater while the upper connection
on
the heater returns
to
connection
B,
nearest the heat exchanger.
Hoses
should rise continuously
from
their
low
point at the
heater
to
the engine
so
that trapped air
will
rise naturally
from
the
heater
to
the
engine.
If
trapped air
is
able
to
rise
to
the
heater,
then
an
air
bleed petcock must be installed
at
the
higher
fitting
on
the heater for bleeding air while
filling
the
system.
Avoid
loops in the hose
runs
which
will
trap
air.
